Killer Instinct: Season 3 begins

Microsoft Studios and Iron Galaxy have announced the global launch of Killer Instinct: Season 3 on Xbox One and through the Windows Store on Windows 10.

Season 3 adds new features, most notably cross-device play between Xbox One and Windows 10 players (across all three Seasons of Killer Instinct), as well as new characters, customizations, and content. All previous content and characters are now available for the first-time to players on Windows 10 as well. If you already own Killer Instinct on Xbox One, everything you already own, earned or purchased (characters, costumes, accessories, etc.) can be accessed on either the Xbox One or Windows 10 version.

Season 3 offers two characters at launch - martial artist-design student Kim Wu and Tusk the Immortal Barbarian. Appearing alongside Kim Wu and Tusk are two guest characters: Rash from Rare’s Battletoads and Arbiter from 343 Industries’ Halo. Throughout the coming months, more challengers will appear and Season 3 will conclude with eight new fighters in total.

Fans have the option to get Killer Instinct: Supreme Edition – ($59.99/£44.99/€59.99 on Xbox One, $49.99/£34.99/€49.99 on Windows 10) which includes characters from all 3 seasons (25 total), all retro costumes, all premium accessory sets, the VIP Double XP Booster and 18,000 KI Gold (limited time only). On Xbox One, the Supreme Edition also includes Killer Instinct Classic and Killer Instinct 2 Classic.

Alternatively, Killer Instinct: Season 3: Ultra Edition – ($39.99/£31.99/€39.99 on Xbox One and Windows 10) includes all eight Season 3 fighters, a VIP Double XP Booster, 8 retro costumes, accessory sets, bonus retro character colors, and 18,000 KI Gold (limited time only).

Lastly, Killer Instinct: Season 3: Combo Breaker – ($19.99/£15.99/€19.99 on Xbox One and Windows 10) contains all eight fighters up front at a discount over the individual character price ($4.99/£3.99/€4.99).

The base game remains free to play.
