Upgraded PC (Blog)
Blog about my PC upgrade and LittleBigPlanet Review
A friend just did an upgrade blog in picture format so I'm shamelessly taking his idea for my new parts.
My parts came earlier this week, put it all together and removed the others in a few hours. PC didn't start first time though, forgot about the secondary power plug Have messed with it a bit, but beeng setting things up, installing programs. Let me tell you adblock plus + easy list filter is the greatest thing ever in firefox.
On with the pics!
Motherboard Gigabyte GA-MA790GPT-UD3H
AMD Phenom II X4 955 AM3 CPU 3.2ghz Quad Core (unlocked)
OCZ 4096 DDR3 10600 7-7-7-20 Memory
ATI SAPPHIRE 5850 1024MB PCI-E 2.0 with Dx11 and DiRT 2! (this card is as long as my 2900xt, the 5970 must be HUGE). These new ATI cards are not easy to aquire, many places I looked were sold out.
Samsung 1TB Spinpoint SATA HDD
HDD space is so cheap these days, I got this for about 10 cents a gigabyte lol
Now I have over 2000GB of storage space
Lots of Pictures today, apologies to those on 56k or lower. Although I doubt there is anybody left on dialup nowadays you can't be too careful.
Played through LittleBigPlanet on PS3. Great little game. I'll be honest with you guys and say I was laughing so hard at this game I was physically hurting. I haven't laughed so hard at a game in a long time (thinking back to TFC now). This game is so much fun online, when you see the little sack people hanging onto a rail cart as it falls into a fire chasm I get a good chuckle. Great Level editor too, if I didn't have catching up to do I'd be all over it.
So now I'm back in action I have to pick up where I left off. And that means Dragon Age when I download it (Hello 15GB) and DiRT 2 with dx11. Plus I have Risen and Modern Warfare 2 online. Then a few games on PS3 like finishing off like Killzone 2. I just started that game and so far it's alright. Got a large proportion of tough guys saying macho things every 5 minutes but I guess that's most FPS games these days. Sometimes I feel like maybe it's time for developers to try something a little more intelligent.
