Mankind Divided removes preorder system
Killswitch given to controversial "Augment your Pre-Order"
Eidos-Montreal and Square Enix have shut down their contentious pre-order system for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. Augment your Pre-Order was launched at the end of August and allowed players to choose from specific content that would be included with the game. This content was unlocked when a set number of gamers pre-ordered. The top tier of this system would also result in the game being released four days early. Augment your Pre-order system has been cancelled as a result of bad feedback. Here’s an excerpt from the statement posted on the official website:
“We’ve spent a lot of time reading through all of your comments, working to understand how we can try to make things right for you. After much thought and reflection, we decided to close down the program...“
Now, all players who pre-order Deus Ex: Mankind Divided will receive every piece of digital content that was part of the defunct pre-order system. This also applies to day one editions of the game, the boxed copies. There will be no early release, no matter how many people purchase the game.
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is still on track to release on February 23rd, 2016 for PC, Xbox One and PS4.
