Over 8 million players have tried Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare
Total user milestone reached for the friendly multiplayer shooter
PopCap Vancouver has announced that more than 8 million players have played Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare since launch.
Player count includes game purchases and promotional offerings. Data was captured between February 25, 2014 and Nov 1, 2015. There is no platform breakdown available; the game first launched on Xbox 360 & Xbox One in February 2014, before also making its way to PC and PlayStation platforms during the summer.
Since launch, over 1.4 billion games have been played, averaging to over 1,600 matches a minute; players vanquished over 7 billion zombies. As a token of appreciation to the community, all Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare players will automatically receive 80,000 PvZ coins in their Garden Warfare account.
Fans can look forward to Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2, set to release in February 2016, this time simultaniously for PC, Xbox One, and PS4.
