Titanfall 2 system requirements listed
Respawn Entertainment reveal that minimum is no longer minimum
Respawn Entertainment have listed the PC specifications for Titanfall 2 which is powered by the Source engine. This is just a few weeks after a technical test that did not involve the PC version. See them below:
Minimum (not really):
- OS: Win 7/8/8.1/10 64bit
- Processor: Intel Core i3-3600t or equivalent
- Memory: 8GB RAM
- Graphics card: NVIDIA Geforce GTX 660 2GB, AMD Radeon HD 7850 2GB
- Hard-drive space: 45GB
Recommended:
- OS: Win 7/8/8.1/10 64bit
- Processor: Intel Core i5-6600 or equivalent
- Memory: 16GB RAM
- Graphics card: NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1060 6GB, AMD Radeon RX 480 8GB
- Hard-drive space: 45GB
Ultra 4k60:
- OS: Win 7/8/8.1/10 64bit
- Processor: Intel Core i7-6700k or equivalent
- Memory: 16GB RAM
- Graphics card: NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1080 8GB
- Hard-drive space: 45GB
The blog posted on the Titanfall website mentions that the minimum spec is actually not required to play the game. Rather, it is a target to “play at a 1600x900 resolution with most details turned on and average around 60fps.” Benchmarks on the blog have the minimum spec computer using a mixture of medium and high settings.
So if your PC does not quite meet the above specifications, you will be able to run Titanfall without too many problems. If you are happy with a lower framerate, it will be possible to turn up graphics settings and/or resolution.
One must wonder why they persist on using “minimum requirements” if they are actually not minimum. But most other game developers do the same with their system requirements. Minimum spec for PC games these days is roughly equivalent to recommended spec as it was used 5+ years ago and the true minimum is unknown.
Titanfall 2 releases on October 28th, 2016.
