The Banner Saga 2 gets Survival Mode on consoles
DLC challenges players to assemble a combat team and survive 40 levels
Versus Evil and indie developer Stoic have announced the release of the Banner Saga 2’s challenging game addition, Survival Mode on PS4 and Xbox One.
In survival mode players have to assemble a combat team from a wide range of existing Banner Saga heroes and survive 40 levels. Once their team is complete, combat begins, but perma-death in battle is real and once lost, a hero can not be brought back. Each victory grants Renown, which can be used to unlock more Heroes to replace ones that have fallen. Items now drop in combat, or can be purchased with Renown, so that you can constantly improve your combat team.
Survival Mode was released on PC last year, where it was free, however console owners will need to pay $4.99/ €4.99/ £3.99 for this DLC.
The Banner Saga Complete Pack which includes both The Banner Saga and Banner Saga 2 games will also now include the additional Survival Mode DLC for an SRP of $37.99/ €37.99/ £31.99.
The Banner Saga 2 was released last year. The final chapter, The Banner Saga 3, is currently in development.
