Gears 5 update for Xbox Series X details
New gameplay content and technical improvements planned
Developer The Coalition have announced new features and technical improvements that will be coming to Gears 5 alongside the launch of the Xbox Series X console on November 10.
Dave Batista is a huge Gears of War and Marcus Fenix fan, so he has been added into the campaign. Developers re-recorded all of Marcus’ lines and recreated his likeness. The end result is Dave Batista is present throughout the campaign in both gameplay and cinematic moments.
The update will also allow you to bring multiplayer character and weapon skins into campaign. This only applies to characters playable in each chapter and the skins will be visible in the cut scenes. There's also 16 new mutators that will change the look, difficulty, and experience of the campaign.
Last but not least, the power of the new Xbox Series X | S means Gears 5 will feel more responsive and look better on the next generation hardware. Fans with new consoles will get PC Ultra visual feature set (this is more true on Series X); PC Ultra-HD texture pack (Series X only); 60 FPS (Series X only); 120 FPS in Versus; 4x improvement in load times, and more.
Gears 5 was first released in 2019 for PC and Xbox One.
