The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom sells 10 million

Nintendo has announced that The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has sold 10 million copies. It is the fastest selling game in the series. Four million copies were sold in the Americas. This makes it the fastest selling Nintendo Switch game and also the fastest selling Nintendo game for any system in the Americas.

“Many players are returning to Hyrule with all its new mysteries and possibilities, and with the record-breaking launch of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom for Nintendo Switch, we can’t wait to see what they’ll create in the game and the stories they’ll share next,” said Susan Pennefather, General Manager, Nintendo of Canada

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is a direct sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. That game has sold over 30 million copies since it came out in 2017.
