BlizzCon 2024 not going ahead
Blizzard says the event will not take place this year, but may return
Publisher Blizzard has announced that the annual event BlizzCon will not be returning in 2024.
"After careful consideration over the last year, we at Blizzard have made the decision not to hold BlizzCon in 2024. This decision was not made lightly as BlizzCon remains a very special event for all of us, and we know many of you look forward to it. While we’re approaching this year differently and as we have explored different event formats in the past, rest assured that we are just as excited as ever to bring BlizzCon back in future years," said the company.
The company plans to appear at other industry trade shows and conventions like Gamescom, Dreamhack Dallas and Dreamhack Stockholm.
BlizzCon is an annual gaming convention held by Blizzard Entertainment to promote its major franchises including Warcraft, StarCraft, Diablo, Hearthstone, Heroes of the Storm, and Overwatch. The first BlizzCon was held in October 2005, and since then, all of the conventions have been held at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California. BlizzCon was has previously skipped years, in 2006 and 2012.
