Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown gets a new launch date
The open world racing game is planning to release this September
Publisher NACON and developer KT Racing have announced that Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown is now planned for launch on September 12, 2024.
In the summer of 2021, the company first announced an ambitiously distant and exact release date of September 2022. Following a few delays, the game is launching in the planned month, but not quite the year.
Taking place in Hong Kong Island, promised to be fully recreated at 1:1 scale, players can drive almost anywhere, and participate in activities either solo or with others. Over 30 car manufacturers are represented with a variety of car types, from 1960s daily drivers to ultra-modern hypercars to off-road vehicles.
The game will be priced at $60 USD, and fans who pre-order any edition of the game will get the Ford GT 2006. There will be a few special editions: the Silver Streets Edition and Silver Sharps Edition (both $80 USD) offer multiple free cars and avatar customization items, as well as 48 hours of early access to the game, and early access to the open beta from August 27 to 30. The Gold Edition ($90 USD) has all content from Silver editions, and adds even more free cars, as well as 7 days of early access to the game, access to the VIP beta from August 13 to 18, and early access to the open beta from August 27 to 30.
Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown will launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC. There is no word on the status of previously announced Nintendo Switch version. Xbox One and PS4 versions were cancelled previously.
