PS5 price going up in Europe, Oceania
Console to become more expensive due to fluctuating exchange rates
Sony has announced that the price of the PS5 console is going up in select markets in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), Australia and New Zealand.
The company says the price update is due to "high inflation and fluctuating exchange rates". The new price is effective startng today, April 14. PS5 Digital Edition will increase to €499.99 in Europe and £429.99 in UK. Australia will see updated price of Standard PS5 with Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive for AUD $829.95, and PS5 Digital Edition for AUD $749.95. New Zealand prices will increase to NZD $949.95 for Standard PS5 with Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive; and NZD $859.95 for PS5 Digital Edition. PS5 Pro RRPs remain unchanged.
This is the second increase over the life of the console, following the 2022 uptick.
