The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered released
Remake of the RPG is announced and launched same day
Bethesda Softworks have announced that The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is available now on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
The Remaster uses Unreal Engine 5 to enhance the visuals and performance, with more detailed character models and improved lip synching; and atmospheric effects.
Sprinting was added to meet modern RPG standards. Combat animations have been fully recreated, adding more flourish and separation between the upper and lower body. Combat also now includes sound effects, visual effects, and hit reactions.
In addition to refining gameplay, there are quality-of-life improvements. The leveling system has been redesigned, inspired by both Oblivion and Skyrim, to offer the best of both worlds. Visual updates to UI and UX reflect contemporary gaming standards and hardware. New dialogue was also recorded for this Remaster.
The game is available as the $49.99 USD standard edition or $59.99 USD Deluxe Edition.
The original The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion launched in 2006 and went on to sell an estimated 10 million copies.
