Duke Nukem Forever will use Steamworks
PC shooter will be tied to users' Steam account
2K Games and Gearbox Software today officially announced that the PC release of Duke Nukem Forever will incorporate Steamworks.
This means that the game will, as usual, be tied to the player's Steam account and pack all related features - ability to download anywhere, no additional DRM, etc. This will also mean, however, that all copies will require Steam to be installed.
Given Steam's earlier offer of "First Access Club" DNF demo for the owners of other Gearbox products, this announcement isn't very surprising.
Duke Nukem Forever ships in May on PC, Xbox 360, and Playstation 3.
