Witcher 2 now available at retail
Anticipated PC RPG is in stores today
CD Projekt RED has announced that The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings has arrived at retail for Windows PC. The Premium Edition can also now be found on store shelves around the world. In addition, fans who prefer the convenience of downloading can opt for the Digital Premium Edition. Gamers have reportedly pre-ordered 151,182 units of the title.
To make The Witcher 2 even more enjoyable, CD Projekt RED is introducing “DLC 4 FREE”, a program of no-charge downloadable content packs for registered users. The first one, which adds a side quest called Troll Trouble, is already accessible. The next free DLC can be expected later this month, and a third in June, with more to follow.
“All of us at CD Projekt RED have put our hearts and souls into this project for nearly four years. With The Witcher 2 now released, we're eager to see what people will say after playing it. At the same time, we're not ready to rest, take a long vacation or just count our sales. We're continuing to work just as hard! An example is the DLC we’ve made available today. It’s only the first in our DLC 4 FREE series for registered users, and we’re also planning various other goodies to help encourage everyone to register,” stated Adam Badowski, Game Director of The Witcher 2.
The Witcher 2 is the sequel to the studio’s debut dark fantasy RPG, which sold more than 1.7 million copies.
