Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain coming to PS4 and Xbox One
Next generation stealth game coming to future platforms
Konami has announced at E3 that Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain is coming to next generation platforms alongside the current consoles.
The stealth action game will be released on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 after those consoles launch. PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions are also up for release.
"To celebrate the success and popularity of the Metal Gear Solid franchise, we are working hard to bring our fans the next installment on next-generation consoles," said Tomoyuki Tsuboi, President of Konami. "We are excited to give players the traditional, high-quality and immersive experience of a MGS title, while also delighting them with new, innovative aspects to the game.”
This title will introduce a new open-world game design featuring realtime weather, realistic passage of time and a variety of ways to navigate the vast new environments within the game. In addition to the franchise’s returning characters, such as Snake, Kazuhira Miller, Ocelot, and Emmerich, the game will introduce new characters to the universe. The storyline will focus on dark themes that portray the ugliness and tragedy of war, as a legendary hero falls from grace.
