Wolfenstein: The New Order delayed
Shooter pushed to 2014 as additional development time is needed
Bethesda Softworks has delayed its upcoming shooter Wolfenstein: The New Order from the previously announced late 2013 window.
The studio's VP of PR and Marketing Pete Hines confirmed the news for Polygon via GI. The franchise reboot shooter is now set for a 2014 release.
"Working on next-gen and current gen definitely has an impact, you're developing for two different things. The fact that the next-gen stuff is still moving is also definitely a factor. But the most important thing was definitely just looking where it was at, what they needed to polish."
Developer Machine Games was formed in 2009 and acquired by Bethesda in 2010. Wolfenstein: The New Order will be its first release.
The shooter is expected on PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
