EA appoints new CEO
Executive VP of EA promoted to top position
Electronic Arts has announced that executive VP of EA Sports Andrew Wilson is now the company's CEO, following John Riccitiello's resignation in March.
"The rigorous search conducted by our Board included several talented executives from both outside the company and from within EA," said former CEO and now executive chairman Larry Probst. "Andrew's appointment is a clear demonstration of the deep bench of management talent at EA, and reflects our fundamental belief that EA is on track to become the global leader in interactive games and services."
Wilson joined EA in 2000, and has worked in a variety of roles for the company, both in the West and as part of its Asia Online Publishing Group. He was formerly the executive producer of the FIFA franchise, and is the first EA studio executive to climb to the position of CEO.
No new head for EA Sports was named.
