DayZ alpha released on Steam

The standalone version of DayZ, a popular mod for Arma 2, is now Available on Steam Early Access as an alpha.

You are one of the few that have survived and now you must search this new wasteland in order to fight for your life against what is left of the indigenous population now infected with the disease. Go solo or team up with friends, as you choose your path using whatever means you stumble upon to survive.

As the game is in early stages, the developers have helpfully put a large warning to all those wishing to make the $30 purchase, that the game is far from complete and will need support from the community to cross the finish line.

DayZ was first announced as a standalone game in the summer of 2012.
